Acknowledgements
We acknowledge that the Lower Deschutes River flows through the ancestral lands of the Warm Springs, Wasco, Paiute, and other Indigenous Peoples who have lived, traveled, and cared for this river and its canyons since time immemorial. These lands remain deeply connected to the cultural lifeways, practices, and sovereignty of the Confederated Tribes of Warm Springs.
As outfitters and guests on this landscape, we recognize that we benefit from the continued presence and stewardship of Indigenous communities. We honor their knowledge, traditions, and enduring relationship with the Deschutes River and commit to recreating with respect, humility, and a spirit of reciprocity.
You can learn more about the Tribe—its history, language revitalization efforts, and cultural programs—on their official website: Confederated Tribes of Warm Springs
This outfitting operation is conducted under a Special Recreation Permit issued by the Bureau of Land Management (BLM). The permit authorizes commercial use of public lands and ensures protection of natural and cultural resources along the Lower Deschutes River.
Outfitting activities are carried out in compliance with all BLM rules and regulations under the guidance of the Prineville District Office. Visitors are encouraged to follow Leave No Trace principles and to respect all posted regulations and river etiquette to help preserve this remarkable river corridor for ours and future generations.
